Isabel Clark. Psychosis and Spirituality. 2nd Ed. 2010 Updated examination of occurrence of religious ideas within psychosis. Helps differentiate between healthy faith and mentally ill behaviors of religious gurus, mass followings, etc

Mary DeMuth. We Too. 2019 Examines 9 misunderstandings of how churches approach sexual abuse victims, whether by church members or outside the church.

Ronald Enroth, Churches that Abuse, 1994 The author examines several churches that betray the faith of their followers, the coercive methods they use, and helps readers see the signs of abuse of authority in the name of God. Includes checklist for a healthy church.

.Janet Hirshfield, Ed. Women in Praise of the Sacred. Spanning 43 centuries, examples of women expressing their devotion and spiritual journey. Allows their voices to be heard.

Rosemary R. Ruether. Redemption in Christian Feminism. 1998. Broadens the concept of redemption to include human dignity and repentance from sexism. How the Christ concept can be used to liberate or oppress.

Frances Schaeffer, Jr. Crazy for God. 2007 The son of the founder of the religious right describes growing up in a home when his father was developing the movement, witnessing his abuses of his mother, and how the evangelical movement lost its way.

Bishop John Shelby Spong. Sins of the Scripture. 2005. Helps examine how Bible and other faith concepts are misused to promote women’s mistreatment.

Leona Tanenbaum. Taking Back God. 2009. Traces American women work for religious equality. An enrichment of one’s personal witness.
